How to treat a freshly made tattoo

Once the tattoo has been performed, the tattoo artist cleans and sterilizes the affected area and, when necessary, applies a bandage or protective film.
You will probably be left with instructions on how often to wash the tattoo and you will be recommended TATTOO BALM as an indispensable care cream, which you can find for sale ONLY in the best Tattoo studios.

From the moment you leave the tattoo shop, the responsibility for the success of the tattoo rests in your hands.

During the first 1-2 hours after leaving the studio, DO NOT REMOVE the cover.
Wait until you are at home or in a clean, comfortable environment, making sure you have antibacterial soap available for washing your hands.
After washing your hands, remove the bandage and gently wash the tattoo using your fingers (skin on skin) and warm water with neutral Ph soap (normal soaps alter the Ph and remove the layer of sebum which is the natural protection of the skin from external agents).
Gently pat dry with paper towels or a clean towel.
Let it breathe for a few minutes, then wash your hands again and apply a light layer of TATTOO BALM massaging gently.

PLEASE NOTE: The risk of contracting infections is highest during the first few hours after the tattoo has been performed.

Do not bandage the tattoo again unless there is a major fluid leak; a loose AND CLEAN dress will be sufficient to protect it, preferably in cotton.
In case you have to go to particularly risky environments (full of dust and dirt) use a specific non-adherent bandage for skin lesions (available in pharmacies) that protects the skin but lets it breathe.

Before going to bed, wash the tattoo again following the instructions described and apply a thin layer of Tattoo Balm cream, until completely absorbed, do not overdo it.
During the healing period it will be sufficient to wash the tattoo 3 times a day and apply a thin layer, always without excess, of Balm Tattoo 3 or 4 times a day.
Until the skin has healed, avoid swimming pools, the sea and the beach, saunas and the practice of water sports.
Do not expose the tattoo to the sun or tanning treatments.
The average healing time for a tattoo varies from 7 to 10 days, even 15 if the tattoo is coloured, but for complete healing, even superficial, the skin takes a 28-day cycle to completely regenerate.
